Canva Pro

Available free to non-profits* through Canva’s Social Impact program, Canva Pro offers an intuitive design interface for creating signs and banners. While we can work with Canva files, some advanced features and effects may need adjustment when preparing for print. For the smoothest experience, we recommend Adobe Express for complex projects.

* Note – Canva uses Goodstack for verification. I found it much easier to apply for a Goodstack account, then apply for Canva after you are verified. If denied by Canva, you have to reach out to Canva to dispute the denial.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about ordering, file setup, and more.

How much does a banner cost?

Banner pricing varies based on size, material, and finishing options. For example, one of our most common sizes is a 3’x6′ banner which costs $93 (with a nonprofit discount rate of $84), compared to approximately $120 at most local sign shops.

We provide detailed quotes for your specific project needs, and our streamlined business model allows us to offer competitive pricing while maintaining professional quality. For an exact quote on your project, please contact us.

What factors affect the cost of my project?

Several factors influence the final cost of your print project:

  • Size and quantity: Larger signs or higher quantities may offer better per-unit pricing
  • Material selection: Standard vs. premium materials (such as mesh banners for wind exposure)
  • Finishing options: Grommets, pole pockets, hemming, and other finishing details
  • Turnaround time: Rush orders may incur additional fees
  • Installation requirements: Setup or mounting assistance if neede
  • Design complexity: Additional design support or file preparation

How do I pay for my order?

Smoky Raven Creative will send you an invoice that must be paid before we process your order. Invoicing is process through Square and can be paid securely online.

Why do I have to pay up front?

Smoky Raven Creative has a mission to provide affordable printing to organizations that matter. Ensuring we get paid for all our work is one component of keeping our pricing affordable.

Why do I have to pay sales tax?

After carefully examining Washington State’s regulations regarding sales tax, we determined the situation in which we could exempt collection are extremely rare.

Do nonprofits get a discount?

Smoky Raven Creative pricing is set up to provide the best pricing we can for nonprofits. Everyone else gets a price that is slightly higher, but much more affordable compared to other local sign shops.

What happens after I pay the invoice?

You will receive a confirmation email that it has been paid. Most sign orders will be completed and delivered to you within 5 days. Smoky Raven Creative will do its best to communicate by email the progress of your order.

How will my order be delivered?

Most orders will be delivered using Fedex. Sometimes we use UPS. Either way you must provide an address that can receive orders using one of those two services. Occasionally we may deliver it ourselves if time allows.

How do I cancel my order?

Once we submit or queue it for printing it is already too late. Please let us know what went wrong though. If we can help, we will.

How do I return my order?

All printed signs are customized just for you, so we do not accept returns, or do exchanges. Please let us know what went wrong though. If we can help, we will.

Will I receive a proof or mockup?

If you send print ready art, no. If we create or modify your artwork, absolutely!

Will my sign look exactly like it did on my screen?

Not likely. We use modern systems to create your sign, but many variables exist in this industry. Converting from the screen RGB system to the CMYK print system may cause some color shifting. Signs are printed using large format equipment to print what is expected to be viewed at a distance. It may look grainy or have lines up close. The intent is to be viewed at a reasonable distance, except fine art prints. Fine art prints are photo resolution, and quality.

Should I design in a CMYK color space?

If you have the option, yes. If you can export CMYK, yes. If you don’t know what that means, or can’t, we still use a process that does a great job of matching. The exception being fine art prints. RGB has a wider gamut and our printer does a great job of reproducing it.

What resolution should I use?

Print equipment prints at 36 to 72 DPI. We recommend 72 to 150 DPI at full size exporting so the print equipment has good data to work with for processing. Fine art we use 300 to 600.

Do you match Pantone match colors?

No. Pantone got to greedy so its no longer integrated into our workflow. We still do our best to provide a high quality print. We recommend selecting CMYK colors in your artwork when possible.

How do I know how many square feet my sign is?

We round up each direction to the next full foot. For example 23”x25” will print at 23″by25″, but will be billed at 24”x36” (6 Sq.Ft.).

What file type do I need?

Export your artwork using a press quality PDF at exact size, no bleed, no added marks. If you have your artwork in another format, go ahead and send it. We will communicate with you on whether or not it will work.

Do you offer a warranty or guarantee?

If you receive your order and it is defective, yes. If you just don’t like what you ordered, no. We dont cover anything related to wear and tear even if it is from the environment.
